OUR STORY

ONCE UPON A TIME...

In 2015, our team began as a group of five high school students in a small garage. Eventually, they found a coach, Dr. Meiring, who taught at Beaverton High School. They could not have known then the extraordinary impact that Beavertronics would have on BHS and the community. That first year, we competed in the Stronghold 2016 FRC game, claiming the Highest Rookie seed as well as the Rookie All-Star and Rookie Inspiration Awards. The summer following our first season, the team founded a summer camp for elementary school students to spread the word of FIRST to the next generation.

The next year, our team competed in Steamworks 2017, where we built the famous "Hangry" robot. We earned the Quality Team award and qualified for both PNW District and World Championships.

In 2018, we participated in the Power Up game. At our first competition of this season, at Clackamas Academy, we became a finalist and earned second place.

Last year, during Deep Space 2019, we had the honor of joining the sixth seeded alliance with Spartan Robotics 997 and Pigmice 2733. Our victories were in the smiles and memories we shared; we actively pursued the commitment to having fun, demonstrated by our playing "down by the banks" with one of our practice field alliances.

While our 2020 season was cut short by COVID-19 related cancellations, we still took the opportunity to continue learning through virtual workshops, build challenges, and a custom 3D printed fidget toy project!
